2018 is the 34th year that Boy Scout Troop #112 has coordinated a Holiday Food and Gift Basket program in Glide.   With the help of numerous community volunteers, the troop brings holiday cheer to hundreds of Glide area residents.

Scouting for Food

The process begins Thursday afternoon when the Sherm's truck
arrives and the pallets of food start getting moved in.

Friday the Scouts take over.

Every food box has to be filled.

Team work gets it done.

As always, the GHS Honor Society pitches in to help.

Some scouts want to continue helping, long after they have left the troop.

It is like a well oiled machine.
Everybody doing their part in the process.

By Friday, mid-morning, all the boxes have been filled.

Time for lunch.
This is one hungry bunch of guys!

Emptying all those boxes of food generates a lot of cardboard.
Load it up and bring it to be recycled.

How many Scouts does it take to construct a garage?

         The whole Troop!

Loading up the trailer to head to Diamond Lake.
A sample of the food boxes.
